WORKSHOT 2017: BACK WALL ECHO
Stop motion animation workshops with Laura Victoria Delgado
Maribor, October 5th−8th 2017 @ 7th StopTrik IFF, Maribor
Laura Victoria Delgado’s statement:
I propose we create together a stop-motion animation, inspired by the imagined surface of an ancient cave, as an ancient human going through the darkness with little lights, to remember, in a sense, the birth of animation. Recalling the cave art, imagining the people going across the caves with torches, sharpens hearing and opens perception of all senses. A time travel in our humankind, imagining the people who have started discovering-creating an image in movement only with a light and their body-mind in the caves. Creation as a ritual process. The discovering-creation of the images in movement with the more basic elements, light, darkness and our humankind. And a very important challenge: to find the materiality of these elements with the stop-motion technique.
