Collection of films
Bruno Collet was born in 1965 in Saint-Brieuc, France. After graduating at the Fine Arts Academy at Rennes, he worked on sculpture and 3D objects exhibitions. His interest in animation developed while he worked for short films and video clips as a decorator.
Le Dos au mur, his first animation short, was produced in 2001 and awarded in International Critic’s Week in Cannes. In 2003 he directed Calypso is Like so, a stop-motion animated film featuring Robert Mitchum’s puppet. He directed three series: RIP, La Tête dans le guidon (2005) and La Tête dans les flocons (2007). His short The Day of Glory (2007) deals with the First World War. In this stop-motion animated film, the bodies of the soldiers again become matter, alloy of earth and steel, curdled in death for eternity. The Little Dragon, from the Animator’s Studio collection, is a living homage to Bruce Lee. After Son Indochine (2012), a short about the war of Indochine using rotoscoping, Bruno started to shoot his new ambitious stop-motion short: Mémorable.
