StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

Imagining the Author

"Imagining the Author" programme: Films of Laura Victoria Delgado

The Darkness Swirl Around Light

2013, CZE, 8'12''

Inspired by Goethe's quotation: "... colour is the dance between Light and Darkness. [colours] are the Deeds and Suffering of light''. The film is the result of an experience of a hand-made film with small children (3−5 years old). It was made as a game where some rules were defined for the kids: play with the film material in order to get familiar with it and with a colour spectrum to paint the film.

The plant's everlasting search for light. A header for a series of portraits of Czech scientists.

2014, CZE, 6'

An abstract video that recalls the internal processes of a plant (molecules, photosynthesis ...) and their external appearance by means of visual manipulation. The shadows of real plants manipulated by glasses and mirrors transform the external real plant into abstract images, following a certain kind of choreography inspired by fractal structures.
