StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

ANIMOCJE International Animated Films Festival

A lot of people think that animation is only about children's fairy-tales. Animocje proves how wrong this notion can be – the festival focuses on ambitious and daring artistic animated cinema. For our Festival the Audience is the most important and we want to provide them with an access to the most intriguing works and artists as well as to bring them closer to the limitless possibilities of animation. Therefore Animocje's Visitors can easily get familiar with practical aspects of this art through comprehensive offer of workshops and educational activities. In programming we keep to the principle of pursuit of courageous, fascinating and innovative films based on unique usage of traditional techniques. The Festival presents international and Polish competitions, thematic retrospectives of shorts and feature-length films, which allows to discover animation art in various contexts. Moreover, we focus on interconnections between animation and other arts such as music, computer games, visual arts and acting. Since 2014, Animocje is the only festival in Poland that grants an award for special achievement in dubbing. The festival is organized since 2011 by the City's Cultural Center in Bydgoszcz (MCK Bydgoszcz). Annecy film festival

Best of the Best: Annecy 2018 for StopTrik IFF

The French festival of animation in Annecy is the oldest such festival in the world. Its history goes back to 1956, when Jica (Journées internationales du cinéma d’animation) was held in conjunction with the festival in Cannes, and soon this review was moved to the city of Annecy. Since 1964 in collaboration with ASIFA (International Animation Film Association), the Festival adopted rigid selection criteria, a structure of competitive and retrospective screenings accompanied with variety of additional events, and became an essential platform of creative exchange between the artists, experts and producers. Festival in Annecy continuously influences trends and tendencies of worldwide artistic animation and stimulates film production and distribution through organization of the wide market Mifa. For any animation enthusiast it is necessary to follow the selection results, winners and laureates awarded at the Festival in mid-June, and the best way to do it is to simply visit Annecy!

The 2018 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival beat all the records. There were 11,700 badgeholders, 3,086 films were submitted to the selection committee and 93 countries were represented. The homage to Brazilian animation, coupled with a theme devoted to “Music and animation film”, gave rhythm and colour to the event. Exhibitions, special screenings, concert films, musical performances, jury members, Territory Focus, Sound Creation Workshops and Masterclasses all punctuated the week putting these themes in the spotlight. The Mifa (market) also beat all records this year, with an even larger surface area of 7,231m², 3,800 badgeholders, 827 exhibitors, 75 countries represented and 468 projects submitted for the Mifa Pitches. And to round up, the Mifa Animation Industry Award was given for the first time to an organisation, the Women in Animation (WIA) association, confirming Annecy’s commitment for equality at the heart of organisations.

In Maribor, Annecy Festival presents winners and laureates of 2018 edition.
