StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

Film Noir

Osbert Parker (Osbert Parker, Fiona Pitkin)

2006, UK, 3'

A passionate homage to the most philosophically pessimistic and aesthetically sophisticated Hollywood genre. Born out of post-WW II trauma and disillusionment film noir poignantly exposed myths and inner tensions of the victorious American masculine culture. In Parker's BAFTA and Cannes nominated short, varieties of characters cut out from film stills, traverse through urban maze-like landscape and interact with manipulated objects, all of these in attempt understand what happened to a blond beauty whose celluloid body is lying covered in a plastic bag while the snails are swarming all around.

Goreč poklon najbolj filozofsko pesimističnemu in estetsko prefinjenemu hollywoodskemu žanru.
